Mutual Funds

Long term, diversified holdings, managed by professionals determined to help your money grow at a consistent, but conservative rate.

Diversified holdings, similar to mutual funds but managed by an algorithm. These investments can follow a simple index or can have complex, overlapping investment strategies.

Individual shares of a company (equity) that can be bought and sold on any given trading day.

A debt security that you (the holder) are paid interest for as you are “loaning” your principle to an entity.

A product sold or bought by an investor which either allows you to buy a stock at a certain price (bought option) or forces you to sell a stock at a certain price (sold option). These tools are much more complex and usually fit only experienced investors.

Segregated Funds*

A long-term growth investment geared for those seeking principle guarantees and creditor protection.

Private Investment Pools

An alternative investment opportunity for the sophisticated investor. For those looking for broader investment options to obtain growth with potential lower fees. Higher minimum deposits required.

If you are like most people, your insurance needs have likely evolved while you have been busy planning your future. Every so often, it is beneficial to take a step back and review your contingency plans for your family in the event of loss of income or premature death.

At KL Advisory Group, we offer a full slate of life insurance and living benefits products to accommodate your ever changing needs. And because we deal strictly with some of the largest insurance providers (Manulife, Sun Life, Great West Life, Industrial Alliance), rest assured you are in good hands.

There are two options when it comes to life insurance:

  • Term Insurance: Provides protection for a pre-determined timeframe, usually renewing every 10 or 20 years, or at age 65. The Insurance expires at age 75.

This type of insurance is ideal for someone looking for short-term protection while keeping their premiums low.

  • Permanent insurance: Designed to remain in force for your entire lifetime. Regarded as a personal or corporate asset which includes increasing death benefits and cash value accumulation. Premiums can be paid for life OR can be paid-up in 15 or 20 years. Common types of permanent insurance are:
    • Whole Life
    • Universal Life

This type of insurance is ideal for clients looking for a long-term protection strategy and is commonly used for succession planning purposes.

Critical Illness

Should you incur a life-threatening illness, critical illness insurance provides a tax-free lump sum payment which can be used however you wish. Coverage can include features such that if a claim has not been made, 100% of the premiums paid are refunded back to the policy holder.

Insurance designed to provide you with a monthly income stream should you become unable to perform your current job responsibilities. Coverage can include enhancements on the disability payout. We can advise you on plan types to provide options for both coverage type and premium cost.

Long-term care

Pays out a monthly benefit for ongoing nursing, personal care, or social services that may be required as a result of a prolonged illness. The funds can be used to hire help within your own home or at a long-term care facility; money can be used at your own discretion.

Group benefit plans

An employer and their employees can share the cost of health benefits by paying into a pool, under one contract. Benefit plans can be set up with a group size as small as 2 employees. Benefits can include, among other things:

  • Life insurance
  • Dependent life insurance
  • Short-term disability
  • Long-term disability
  • Prescription drug coverage
  • Dental Care
  • Professional Services (massage therapy, chiropractor, physiotherapist etc.)
  • Vision care
  • Travel medical insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
